![]() Windows lets me set EXIF dates via a properties dialog without any problem, but I need to be able to set times as well, and that doesn't work. I would like to (where possible, some are in formats where I'm going to have to make do with other approaches) edit those pictures that support EXIF tags but are incorrectly or simply not date stamped with their appropriate dates and also their times. The problem is that not all of my pictures have said data. The following command will destructively remove all metadata from all files that exiftool recognizes in the current working directory: exiftool -recurse -overwriteoriginal -all. Click Details on the file’s properties window. Right-click a photo to view EXIF data and select Properties. Bring up the Pictures folder or whatever directory includes your photos. This tool is very easy to use, even you kids can do it (seriously). Linked OSM and Google Maps location based on embedded GPS data PNG: Compression view. Exiftool also can be flagged for recursive operation against the current directory. To open and view Windows File Explorer, press the Win + E keyboard shortcut. The first online tool you can use to view Exif data of your photos is metapicz. However, for that to work, you will have to add images to Movavi manually. ![]() Movavi comes with face recognition built-in (just like Google Photos) allowing it to group photos of the same person in the same folder. Because there are so many files I'm using a batch naming tool that can base decisions off of EXIF data. This analyzer tool extracts hidden metadata like Exif, IPTC, XMP. If you are looking for an advanced photo viewer, Movavi is really cool. I'm now organizing the lot of them and arranging them with a standard file-naming scheme that includes date and time. Some I've taken with a Canon DSLR, some with a couple of old point-and-shooters, some with various phone cameras, and finally I've scanned some decades old family pictures. I have a collection of several thousand photos that I've taken over the years.
